About Us
Since 1984, Wee Watch has proved to be an exceptional Canadian organization. We strictly comply with and exceed provincial licensing regulations in accordance with the Day Nurseries Act. Wee Watch’ s high standards include careful screening of Providers and their families. Providers have been carefully screened for their child care skills and their ability to provide children with a warm, safe and stimulating environment. Each Provider completes a detailed interview, home assessment, physical checkup and personal and criminal reference checks prior to children starting. Providers must also complete First Aid training as well as continually upgrade their skills.
Wee Watch offers full and part-time care for children six weeks to twelve years of age. For more information regarding hours and fees, please contact us directly at 905-433-0558 or fill out our contact form. The partnership between Wee Watch, parents and Providers enhance the quality of care each child receives. Open communication is vital to ensure that the program in the home is designed to meet the individual needs of your child at every stage of their development. Wee Watch monitors the home with unscheduled visits by government approved Early Childhood Educators. These Home Visitors will check the Provider’s home for safety and ensure all standards are maintained.
As a parent, you have the comfort of knowing Wee Watch uses many resources to keep you informed of the program in the home as well as providing a wide range of services to you. Some of these services include a written home visit report, back-up service for days your Provider needs off due to illness or holidays; on-going workshops and training programs for yourself and your Provider; tax receipts and more.
Testimonials
PARENT
Our time with Wee Watch, yourself and Elizabeth is rapidly coming to an end. I’d like to thank you and the rest of the Wee Watch team for all that you have
done to provide excellent care for Matthew and William. Everyone I have met through your organization has always been very caring, courteous and professional. Both of my boys thrived in Elizabeth’s loving care. She treated them as if they were her own. They thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent with
her and will miss her greatly, as will I. I know I have been very particular when it comes to back-up and you have always managed to meet my
expectations. The back-up caregivers I have had the pleasure to meet have also been wonderful to my children, a strong reflection of the time you take in
finding just the right people to work in your organization.
Thanks again for a terrific 4 ? years.
Stephanie
PROVIDER
Let me introduce myself to you. I am June of Oshawa, a successful business woman who has been working from my home for many years doing something I absolutely love . . . providing a nurturing and positive environment caring for babies and children in my home.
Although I enjoyed my previous positions in office environments and loved being the co-editor of a monthly magazine, I made a decision to change directions in my career path when I was unable to find suitable day care for my two young girs. A friend, a Children Services Worker, suggested that being a child care home Provider would allow me to operate a lucrative business and be at home with my young children, ages 4 and 5 at the time. “I could be a child again and join in the fun. What a brilliant idea!
For the past 12 years, I have been under contract as a home care Provider with Wee Watch and I haven’t looked back since! Wee Watch provides quality flex care, including days, evenings, overnights and weekends for children ages 0 – 12. I was carefully screened, selected and I’m monitored to ensure that my home and programming are meeting their high standards. Wee Watch provides me with up to 5 children at a time, visits me monthly, answers all my questions pertaining to my child care environment, offers seminars and training opportunities and is always just a phone call away.
I enjoy meeting the needs of the individual children while at the same time having structure with flexibility. I incorporate plenty of crafts, activities, inside and outside play, computer and electronic games for the older children, wholesome meals and snacks along with lots of nurturing and tender loving care. I have a special relationship with the children based on trust. And yes, I am attached to them all and when they succeed or excel, I am happy and it’s gratifying just knowing that I was there to help mentor and encourage them.
I love children, and I love being self-employed. Working with Wee Watch and setting my own hours, while earning a good income with guaranteed payment is rewarding and has been a wonderful opportunity for me!
